
Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup warm water
1 1/2 tbsp. dry active yeast
1 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. olive oil
2 1/2 – 3 1/2 cups Flour
Directions:
- Start by combining the warm water, yeast and sugar in a bowl. Allow to sit for a few minutes until foamy.
- Once foamy, add the salt and olive oil and add the flour 1 cup at a time. The dough should feel soft . knead it for a bit until the dough is sturdy.
- Allow it to rest covered for 45 minutes.
- Punch down the dough and split it evenly into 4 dough balls. Cover and rest for 15 minutes.
- Roll the dough out into rectangles. roll the rectangle like a cinnamon roll. tucking in the ends and pinching the seems.
- Place the dough logs onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Allow to rest covered for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and cool before cutting into them. They can be toasted for a delicious Italian sandwich!!
