
Ingredients:
1 1/3 cup Warm Water
2 1/4 tsp. Dry Active Yeast
1 Tbsp. Sugar
3 1/2 cup All Purpose Flour
1 1/2 tsp. Salt
6-8 cups water
1 tbsp. Baking Soda
1 tbsp. Honey
1 Egg Wash
*Mix-ins of your choice. I use cinnamon sugar and raisins and everything bagel seasoning.
Directions:
- Mix the yeast sugar and water in a bowl and let the yeast bloom for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture to the flour and knead into a smooth ball of dough. it should be elastic and not sticky.
- Place the dough into a greased bowl and cover. let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
- Punch down the dough and divide into 6 equal pieces. If you are adding a mix-in, add it now and roll each equal piece into a ball. Allow them rise for thirty minutes.
- Heat the water to a simmer and add the baking soda and honey. Slowly, add the bagels 2 or 3 at a time and simmer them for 30 seconds per side.
- Drain and place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
- Brush the bagels with the egg wash. Sprinkle with any toppings you may like.
- Bake in a 400 degree oven for 20 minutes. Allow to cool before slicing.
Vanilla Granola
Ingredients:
5 cups Rolled Oats
1/2 Coconut Oil
2/3 cup Maple Syrup or Honey
1 tbsp. Vanilla Extract
1 tbsp. Cinnamon
Directions:
- Warm the coconut oil until liquid. Add the vanilla, cinnamon and maple syrup.
- Pour the liquid mixture over the oats and stir to combine. Make sure the oats are fully coated.
- Pour onto a parchment lined baking sheet and bake at 300 degree for 45 minutes.
- Allow them to cool and then break them up into clusters.
